    Determine your Volkswagen Transporter T6’s engine code 

    Despite only two base mechanical designs in the Transporter T6, as detailed in our brand-new Haynes manual, Volkswagen uses a range of engine codes to determine specific details, such as the actual power output, internal component specifications, market-specific settings or design updates.  

    You will need your T6’s engine code to ensure you get the correct information from your digital companion product which comes as part of the hybrid package.  

     There are several ways you can find the engine code that relates to your vehicle:  

    • On the driver information display 

    Switch the ignition on and hold the ‘SET’ button for approximately 10-15 seconds. This should display the engine code on the screen. 

    • Service book 

    There should be a ‘Service sticker’ in the  service book that came with the vehicle, unless the service book has been lost and replaced. 

    • Service sticker 

    There should be another service sticker on the vehicle, matching that in the service book. It may be located beneath the steering column, in the footwell by the driver’s right ankle, the front of the seat base or the driver’s side B-pillar. 

    • Engine sticker 

    There should be a sticker on the engine close to the top of the timing belt cover with the engine code on it.  

    • Engine block 

    The code should be stamped into the engine block where it mates with the transmission.
