Diesel Defender service considerations
Diesel Land Rover Defender servicing commonly centres on engine-oil and filter changes, fuel filter condition, and air-intake filtration, especially if the vehicle is used off-road or for towing. Across older units such as 2.25 D, 2.5 D/TD, 200/300 Tdi and TD5, and newer D200/D250/D300/D350 (DT306) and 2.0 TD4 variants (204DTA), the best oil-change cadence can vary widely by model year and service regime. If your Defender has a diesel particulate filter on later models, correct oil spec and keeping on top of servicing helps support reliable regeneration. Cooling-system checks (level, leaks and hose condition) are also particularly important on working Defenders where heat load and contamination are higher.
