Diesel Ford Ranger maintenance (EcoBlue, TDCi, Duratorq)
Most Ford Ranger models are diesel, spanning older Duratorq/TDCi units through to newer 2.0 EcoBlue and Bi-Turbo EcoBlue engines. Oil and filter changes are fundamental on all of them, but the service distance and time can vary widely by model year and usage, so follow the interval shown for your exact Ranger. If your Ranger is fitted with a diesel particulate filter (DPF), driving pattern and correct oil specification become especially important, and the schedule may include extra checks for exhaust/aftertreatment and boost hoses. It’s also sensible to keep on top of fuel filter renewal and air intake inspection, as these engines are sensitive to restricted flow and poor fuel quality.
