Wear on one side is caused by suspension misalignment

Tire center wear is caused by overinflation

Tire shoulder wear is caused by underinflation, incorrect wheel camber (worn suspension parts), or hard cornering
 - step 4
Tread wear can be monitored with an inexpensive device known as a tread depth indicator gauge
 - step 5
The original tires have tread wear safety bands (B), which will appear when the tread depth reaches approximately 1.6 mm. The band positions are indicated by a triangular mark on the tire sidewall (A)
