Find your vehicle
- step 1
Locate the battery
- step 2
Open the 'Negative' (-) protective cover
- step 3
Check the Negative (-) terminal clamp is tight
- step 4
Open the 'Positive' (+) protective cover
- step 5
Check the Positive (+) terminal clamp is tight. CAUTION If using a spanner to tighten terminal, be careful not to short it on the bodywork
- step 6
Check battery is generally secure - if loose, tighten the battery retainer
- step 7

To tighten, a 12mm socket is needed. Not too tight because you may damage the battery casing
