BMW X4 petrol engines in this family include units such as B48, B58, N20, N55 and S58, and their service needs can differ between everyday models and M variants. Keep oil and filter changes consistent with the schedule for your exact engine, as turbocharged petrol units are sensitive to oil condition and correct specification. Spark plugs and ignition components are key wear items on petrol models, and misfires can quickly affect the catalytic converter if left unresolved. BMW X4 diesel service and maintenance

BMW X4 diesel options span families including B47, B57, N57 and cover both standard and higher-output versions. Diesels typically need closer attention to intake and emissions-related components such as EGR and the DPF, especially where the car does lots of short or stop-start driving that can interrupt DPF regeneration.
