Abarth petrol engine maintenance (T-Jet and MultiAir)
Most Abarth models use turbocharged petrol engines, so regular oil and filter changes are key to protecting the turbo and maintaining performance. Depending on engine and schedule, oil service is typically listed at 15,000-30,000 km or 12 months, and short-trip or hard-driven cars often benefit from sticking to the earlier end of that range. Alongside the oil service, keep an eye on coolant condition and levels, check for intake and boost leaks, and inspect auxiliary belts and hoses for age-related cracking. Spark plugs and ignition components are also worth prioritising on high-output turbo petrol engines, as worn plugs can trigger misfires and poor running.
